Special Projects Due:
5th Grade Science Experiment
Date Due: Thurs. Feb. 25, 2016
Your assignment is to choose a science experiment to do at home. For ideas, see the attached sheet, or look on websites for science experiments/science fair projects. I recommend the experiments on the website pbskids.org/zoom/activities/sci
You will perform the experiment and write all of your findings about your experiment on the pages Science Experiment: Parts 1-4 in the packet you were given in class.
After your experiment is completed, you will need to design a display to show what you learned. Please include all of the steps of the scientific method on your display, along with any photos, drawings, or graphs to show what happened. Decorate and design it to be eye-catching!

Scrapbook Project
Due: November 6, 2015
The 5th graders have been assigned their first big project of the year, a Book Report Scrapbook. Directions have been sent home with your child this week (Oct. 6). This project requires that your child read a fictional book of at least 100 or more pages long. The students will create a scrapbook with various pages to demonstrate their knowledge and analysis of the story in a creative way. This project is due on November 6, 2015. Students must have their chosen book approved by their teacher by Friday, Oct. 9.
